PEACE Project at Wind & Solar Integration Workshop, Berlin, October 2025

Published: October 3, 2025

The PEACE project will be represented at the 24th International Wind & Solar Workshop, taking place on 7-10 October 2025 in Berlin, Germany.

The PEACE project team member Hans Wiggenhauser (DLR), gives a presentation entitled Operating Strategies for Pressurized Alkaline Electrolysis to increase dynamic capability, co-authored by Fatemeh  Razmjooei & Asif Ansar (DLR). The presentation will explore the application of TEMPEST simulation framework to the high-pressure alkaline electrolyser of the PEACE project.

The talk will explore operating strategies for pressurised alkaline electrolysis developed within the PEACE project. It will highlight the advantages of a two-stage pressurisation concept operating at up to 90 bar, including efficiency gains and simplification of downstream processes. A particular focus will be placed on the challenges of dynamic operation at high pressure (e.g., the gas purity and parameter distribution inside the cells).

Using the TEMPEST simulation framework, the team investigates various operating strategies and scaling approaches, which will be supported by experimental validation.

Hans' speech is scheduled for Wednesday, 8th October, 2025 at 16:10-18:10 Session 6C Electrolyzers and Ancillary services in Berlin Marriott Hotel.
