The PEACE project will be represented at the Renewable Energy Grid Integration Week, taking place from 28 September to 02 October in Porto, Portugal.
Hans Wiggenhauser (Institute of Engineering Thermodynamics, German Aerospace Center, DLR) will deliver a presentation entitled: “Validation of a Transient 90-bar Alkaline Electrolysis Model: Lessons from Project PEACE”, co-authored by Fatemeh Razmjooei & Syed-Asif Ansar (DLR), and Lars Röntzsch & Hesham Mahfouz (Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg).
Hans' talk is scheduled for Wednesday, September 30, in WISO SESSION 5D – ELECTROLYZER SYSTEM MODELLING (14:50–15:40).
Hans will highlight the experimental validation of the TEMPEST transient model on PEACE’s high-pressure alkaline electrolysis system, focusing on how changes in current density, electrolyte flow rate and pressure affect system behaviour. He will also discuss how complementary atmospheric tests help improve the understanding of gas crossover and support the model’s use for predicting operating conditions. The work demonstrates how validated modelling can help de-risk high-pressure electrolysis and support the development of future industrial-scale systems.
