The PEACE project will be represented at the European Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Piero Lunghi Conference 2026, taking place on 15-17 September on Capri, Italy.
PEACE project Coordinator Dr. Fatemeh Razmjooei (Institute of Engineering Thermodynamics, German Aerospace Center, DLR) will deliver a presentation entitled: “Moving Beyond the Limitations of Conventional Alkaline Water Electrolysers for Efficient and Flexible Hydrogen Production”. Her talk is scheduled for Wednesday, September 16, 15:30 – 15:50 in Room Capri.
Dr. Razmjooei will highlight how advanced alkaline electrolysers can move beyond the limits of conventional systems by combining improved stack components, smarter operating strategies, and transient modelling to enable efficient, flexible, and safe hydrogen production under fluctuating renewable‑energy conditions. The DLR team´s work shows that optimized control can reduce gas crossover at low loads and significantly boost overall performance.

In the poster session dedicated to hydrogen production, the DLR team will also present the poster “Investigation of the Challenges in Dynamic Operation of Pressurized Alkaline Water Electrolysers” (ID124), delivered by Kamal Ghotia. The poster shares insights from testing pressurized alkaline electrolysers under fast, renewable‑driven load changes, demonstrating how elevated pressure affects gas purity and how optimized electrolyte flow management can significantly reduce gas crossover and improve operational stability. These results are based on experiments performed using a high‑pressure test rig equipped with advanced EIS diagnostics.
